On a busy afternoon at the intersection of Highway 92 and Bells Ferry Road, traffic crawled under the weight of red lights and rushing schedules—until one small moment cut through the noise.
A motorist’s car sputtered and died in the middle of the roadway, hazards flashing as drivers cautiously passed by. Before frustration could take over, two employees of EJ Tire Service noticed what was happening. Without hesitation, the two young men stepped out of the shop, waited for a break in traffic, and ran across the street.
Together, they joined forces and began to push, guiding it safely out of harm’s way and into a nearby parking lot. No speeches. No fuss. Just teamwork, muscle, and the kind of instinctive kindness that doesn’t ask for credit.
Once the car was secure, and the driver and passenger safe, the EJ Tire crew crossed the road again and went right back to work as if nothing extraordinary had happened.
Luckily, Eye on Cherokee News editor Carly Shipp was stopped at the red light and witnessed the entire scene unfold. She even managed to capture a photo of the good deed in action—a quiet reminder that everyday heroes don’t always wear uniforms or make headlines.
Sometimes, they just push.
